Nate Wade became the investment officer at the McKnight Foundation in 2019, covering its $2.2 billion endowment, including its commitment to impact investing. Nate provides strategic analysis of the portfolio, working directly with fund managers, the board’s investment committees, and investment advisors. He is building the Foundation’s direct private investment program and helping expand into new asset classes.
Since joining the Foundation in 2014 as an investment analyst, Nate has been instrumental in driving environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and impact integration through the endowment. As of 2019, one of every three investment dollars aligns with McKnight’s mission. Prior to McKnight, Nate worked for Target Corporation for seven years as an analyst in corporate finance, focusing on in-store health clinics, supply chain management, fabric sourcing, and other areas.
Nate holds a master of science degree in finance from Georgetown University and a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and economics from the University of Michigan.
