The McKnight Foundation has hired Megan Powers as international program officer, Flannery Clark as executive assistant, and Grace Fredrickson as accounting assistant.
Megan Powers comes to McKnight from Grassroots Solutions, a firm specializing in strategy, organizing, training, and evaluation. During her five years as a senior consultant, she led strategy, coordination, facilitation, convening, advising, and evaluation efforts on a host of nonprofit, public, and philanthropic initiatives. Previously she held leadership positions at two Minneapolis nonprofits, Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy and The Advocates for Human Rights, where she led an initiative to prevent child labor in rural Nepal. Powers spent a year in Mokpo, South Korea, as a Fulbright grantee and trainer. Fluent in Spanish, she completed a graduate program in international conflict resolution as a Rotary World Peace Fellow at Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and holds a B.A. from the University of St. Thomas.
Prior to McKnight, Flannery Clark spent three years as associate administrator at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. Over a five-year stint at Macalester College she worked as project manager for software implementation, assistant director of admissions, and admissions officer. She has a double major in political science and history and a minor in legal studies from Macalester. A native of Montana, Clark grew up in Washington, D.C. and northern Arizona. During and after college, Clark worked as a 911 dispatcher at the 24-hour Grand Canyon regional communications center, serving federal lands across northern Arizona.
Grace Fredrickson has over six years’ experience in accounting, having worked prior to McKnight in a variety of roles at several prominent organizations including Korn Ferry, an international leadership development and recruitment company, and Aeon, a Minneapolis-based affordable housing nonprofit and McKnight grantee. She has a B.A. in journalism from the University of Oklahoma and is active in the Twin Cities dance scene as a participant, spectator, and teacher.
